TrueSignal Overview
TrueSignal is TrueTracked's server-side conversion tracking system. It sends enriched conversion data directly to your ad platforms via their server-side APIs, bypassing browser limitations and providing more reliable optimization signals.
How It Works
- A visitor lands on your site and the TrueTracked pixel captures their session and touchpoint data.
- When that visitor completes a purchase, TrueTracked receives the order event (via pixel or Shopify webhook).
- TrueSignal enriches the conversion with first-party data (IP, user agent, email, phone when available) and sends it directly to the ad platform's server-side API.
- The ad platform uses this server-side signal alongside its own pixel data for better optimization and attribution.
Why Server-Side Tracking?
- Resilient to ad blockers: Server-side events are sent directly from TrueTracked's servers, so they're never blocked by browser extensions.
- Better data quality: Events include enriched first-party data that browser pixels can't capture, improving match rates.
- Improved ad optimization: More complete conversion data helps ad platforms optimize bidding and targeting more effectively.
- Deduplication: TrueSignal works alongside browser pixels. Ad platforms automatically deduplicate events using event IDs.

Getting Started
To set up TrueSignal for a specific platform, follow the platform-specific guide:
Test Mode
Each TrueSignal connection supports a Test Mode that sends events to the platform's test endpoint instead of production. Use this to verify your setup before going live.
For Meta, you can also provide a Test Event Code from the Events Manager to see test events in real-time.
FAQ
Do I still need the browser pixel?
Yes. TrueSignal works alongside the browser pixel, not as a replacement. The browser pixel captures client-side data that server-side tracking cannot (like click IDs and cookies). Together they provide the most complete picture.
Will this cause duplicate conversions?
No. Ad platforms use event IDs to deduplicate server-side and browser-side events automatically. You'll see the same conversion counted once, but with richer data.
How many pixels can I connect?
The number of pixel connections depends on your plan. Check your plan limits in Settings > Billing.
