MCP Connector
Connect TrueTracked to Claude, Claude Code, or ChatGPT and ask about your ad performance in plain English. Instead of opening the dashboard and filtering, you ask a question and get an answer built from your own tracking data. You can also point an automation at it, such as n8n or a scheduled script, and pull the same numbers on a schedule.
The connector is read-only. It can look at your data. It cannot change anything, in TrueTracked or anywhere else.
Before you start: you need a TrueTracked account with at least one website already collecting data, a plan that includes analytics (a Standard plan or an active trial), and an AI app that supports remote MCP connectors. Setup takes about a minute.
The Connector URL
Every app asks for the same thing. This is it:
https://mcp.truetracked.com/mcpThere are two ways to sign in, and the right one depends on whether the tool can open a browser.
| If you are using | Sign in with |
|---|---|
| Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, or any other AI app | A browser login. No API key, client ID or client secret needed. |
| n8n, a scheduled script, a CI job, or your own code | A personal API key, because nothing is there to click through a login. |
For the browser login you do not need a client ID or a client secret. You log in to TrueTracked and approve the connection, the same way you would sign in to any app with Google.
Connect from Claude
This works in the Claude web app and the Claude desktop app.
- Open Settings > Connectors
- Click Add custom connector
- Paste
https://mcp.truetracked.com/mcpas the remote MCP server URL - Leave OAuth Client ID and OAuth Client Secret empty. They are not needed and the connector will not work correctly if you invent values for them
- Click Add, then Connect
- Log in to TrueTracked in the window that opens, and approve the consent screen
- Start a new chat and ask a question

What the consent screen asks for: confirm who you are, read your name and profile, read your email address, and stay connected when you are not using the app. That last one is what keeps the connection alive so you are not asked to log in again every few hours.

Connect from Claude Code
One command in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http truetracked https://mcp.truetracked.com/mcpClaude Code opens the same browser login. Once you approve it, the connector is available in that project.
Connect from ChatGPT
ChatGPT supports remote MCP connectors, with some limits worth knowing before you try:
- You need a paid ChatGPT plan
- You need to turn on developer mode in settings
- It works on the web app only, not the mobile apps
Once developer mode is on, add a connector, paste the same URL, and approve the login.
Connect from Any Other MCP App
Anything that supports a remote MCP server over HTTP with OAuth will work. Point it at the connector URL and leave the client ID and secret blank. The app registers itself automatically, then sends you to TrueTracked to log in.
Connect an Automation
An n8n workflow, a nightly script or a CI job cannot click through a browser login, so it uses a personal API key instead. You create one in your profile and send it as a header.
Full setup, request examples and limits are in API Keys.
What You Can Ask
Ask in normal language. You do not need to know metric names or date formats.
| Ask this | And you get |
|---|---|
| What was my ROAS last month? | Spend, revenue and ROAS for the month, and how it compares to the month before |
| How did Meta really perform last month? | What Meta reports next to what TrueTracked measured, side by side, on the same spend |
| Which campaign should I turn off? | Campaign level spend, orders and ROAS, ranked, with the weak performers called out |
| Which channels touched my biggest order last week? | The order, and the full path of channels that led to it, for example Google then Meta then direct |
| Show me this customer's full journey | Every visit that person made, across every device, in order, with the orders attached |
| Is my ROAS trending down? | A day by day series you can read as a trend, not a single number |
| Are all my ad accounts still connected? | The status of each integration, so you find a broken connection before it costs you data |

What It Can See
The connector exposes 15 read-only tools. You never call them by name. The AI picks the right one from your question. They fall into three groups:
| Group | Covers |
|---|---|
| Setup and vocabulary | Your websites, the metrics available, the attribution models available, and turning phrases like "last month" into real dates |
| Quick answers | Summary totals, day by day summaries, platform reported ad metrics, creative performance, and integration health |
| Deeper analysis | Platform and campaign performance, performance over time, which products a campaign actually sold, your orders, and a single customer's full journey |
Creative level data is Meta only. Ad creative performance comes from Meta. Google, TikTok and the others report at campaign level.
Where the Numbers Come From
Every number the connector returns is labelled with its source, so the AI cannot mix them up and neither can you:
- TrueTracked measured: what our own first-party tracking recorded, using the attribution model you asked for.
- Platform reported: what Meta, Google, TikTok or Microsoft claims in their own dashboard.
- Blended store: your whole store total, regardless of channel.
This matters because the two rarely agree. Ad platforms count conversions their own way, and comparing a platform figure against a TrueTracked figure without knowing which is which is how people talk themselves into the wrong decision.
Security
- Read-only. There is no tool that writes, edits or deletes anything. Claude classifies the whole connector as read-only on its own.
- Your data only. You only ever see the websites your account is a member of.
- Checked every time. Your access is re-checked on every single request, not once when you connect. Remove someone from your organisation and their access stops immediately.
- No password is shared. The AI app never sees your TrueTracked password. You log in on our site and approve the connection.
- No raw database access. The connector cannot run arbitrary queries. It can only call the specific tools listed above.
- API keys are personal and revocable. A key is tied to one person and reads only what that person can already see. It is stored hashed, shown once, and revoking it takes effect on the very next request. Every key shows when it was last used, so an unused or unexpected one is easy to spot.
You can disconnect at any time from your AI app's connector settings, or revoke a key from your profile.
Staying Connected
The connection lasts indefinitely. It renews itself quietly in the background, so you should not be asked to log in again during normal use. If you do not use it for around 30 days or more, you may be asked to log in once, which takes a few seconds.
Troubleshooting
- You are asked to log in again mid-conversation: approve it and carry on. If it happens repeatedly, remove the connector and add it again so a fresh connection is created.
- The wrong store's data comes back: if your account has more than one website, name the one you mean in your question. Asking "which websites do I have?" first will list them.
- It says a subscription is required: your trial has ended, or your plan does not include analytics. See the plan question in the FAQ below.
- It says it is busy, try again: the deeper reports are genuinely heavy queries and only one runs at a time. Wait a few seconds and ask again.
- Numbers look wrong: check which basis the answer used. A platform reported figure and a TrueTracked measured figure for the same campaign are supposed to differ. Ask the AI which one it used.
- No data at all: confirm the pixel is installed and collecting. See Pixel Installation.
FAQ
Can it change anything in my account or my ads?
No. It is read-only. It cannot edit your settings, pause a campaign, or touch your ad accounts.
Does my AI provider get my data?
Only the answers to the questions you ask, in that conversation, the same as anything else you type into it. Nothing is sent in the background and nothing is sent unless you ask a question.
Can I connect more than one store?
Yes. One connection covers every website your account has access to. Ask which websites you have and then name the one you want.
Can I use it with n8n, Zapier, or my own script?
Yes. Automation tools cannot complete the browser login, so they use a personal API key instead. Create one in your profile and send it as a header. See API Keys. The one exception is ChatGPT, which cannot send custom headers at all, so it uses the browser login like the other AI apps.
Do I need a specific TrueTracked plan?
You need a plan that includes the analytics dashboard, which means a Standard plan or an active trial. TrueSignal only plans do not include analytics, so the connector will ask you to upgrade. See pricing.
Which attribution model does it use?
The TrueTracked model by default, the same as your dashboard. You can ask for first click, last click, linear, or the view-through model by name, and you can ask it to compare two of them.
